Summarization
Summarization shortens older messages in a roleplay chat. This helps the AI keep important details without reading every earlier message in full. It is optional and starts turned off.
Configure summarization
- Open Summarization in the sidebar.
- Enable Message summarization.
- Choose a connection preset for summaries, or leave it set to use the chat's preset.
- Set the number of previous messages used only as context and the number of recent messages to keep unchanged.
- Adjust the system prompt only if you want a different summary style.
The default system prompt asks the model to keep events, decisions, revelations, feelings, and tone without making up or continuing the story.
Summarize a chat
Open a roleplay chat and choose Summarize. Museris summarizes eligible older messages one at a time. The newest number of messages selected in Recent messages to keep as-is remain in their original form.
Museris uses summaries only when summarization is on. The original message stays in the chat, so you can turn the feature off and use the full text again.
Choose useful settings
- Generation preset: A small, fast model can be a good dedicated choice for summaries; use the chat model when you want its writing quality and context handling.
- Previous messages included as context: These help the summary model interpret the target message. They are context only, so the summary should not include events found only in those earlier messages.
- Recent messages to keep as-is: Keep enough recent turns for the current scene to stay natural. Eight is the initial default.
Clear summaries
To remove all generated summaries from one chat, open that chat's edit screen and choose Clear Summaries. This restores use of the original text; it does not delete messages.
